Willie Nelson Reminds Us All: ‘If You Don’t Like Who’s In There, Vote ‘Em Out’ with Timely New Song/Video

“The biggest gun we’ve got is called the ballot box,” says Willie Nelson in his brand new music video for “Vote ‘Em Out,” an anthem urging us all to keep in mind the power of our right to vote.

With the Nov. 3 General Election coming up quickly, the song serves as a passionate — and timely — reminder from the country icon, and its animated music video is even better:

“Vote ‘Em Out” was written and produced by Willie and longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon, and the song features Willie’s sons Lukas and Micah Nelson accompanying their father.

The song was first premiered by Willie Nelson in September 2018 at a campaign event in Texas for Beto O’Rourke, who was challenging Ted Cruz in the state’s U.S. Senate race. Nelson introduced the song by saying, “Here’s a new song I wanna spring on y’all tonight. Take it home with you and spread it around.”

Its premiere coincides with this past weekend’s Farm Aid 2020 On the Road, a live stream edition of Willie’s annual fundraising festival supporting the farm workers of the United States:

Farm Aid 2020 On the Road featured performances from “Willie and the Boys” and Farm Aid Board Members Neil YoungJohn Mellencamp and Dave Matthews, with additional performances from the likes of Brandi Carlile, Nathaniel Rateliff, Bonnie Raitt, Black Pumas & more.
