Willie Nelson Covers Coldplay for Chipotle, Sustainable Energy
It’s not the most obvious collaboration of all time, but it works.
In news that made the rounds this week, country legend Willie Nelson lent his musical services to Chipotle Mexican Grill, covering The Scientist by Coldplay for a short film emphasizing the importance of sustainable food systems.
While seemingly a random combination of Nelson, Coldplay and a popular Mexican-American restaurant chain, the short film actually does a pretty decent job illustrating why focusing on sustainable food systems is a good idea. In the piece, a farmer slowly comes to the realization that his farm is becoming an industrial animal factory, compelling him to change his ways and embrace sustainability.
If you enjoyed Willie Nelson’s decidedly different spin on Coldplay’s hit song, you can buy it on iTunes. Proceeds from sales of the single go to The Chipotle Cultivate Foundation.
