Whitesnake: New Album ‘Flesh & Blood’ Coming Out May 10; Premiere ‘Shut Up & Kiss Me’ Video

David Coverdale and Whitesnake will get back in the thick of it again later this year, as on May 10th the long-running band will release a new record titled Flesh & Blood. It’ll be the first proper Whitesnake album since 2015’s The Purple Album, and was announced on Thursday.

In addition to the news, which was revealed by Coverdale in a Q&A with Billboard, a music video for a track called “Shut Up & Kiss Me,” heavily featuring Coverdale’s home in Lake Tahoe as well as the very same white Jaguar Tawny Kitaen danced around in the classic ’80s video for “Here I Go Again.” Watch it all below:

The record, which also features Reb Beach and Joel Hoekstra on guitar, Michael Devin on bass, Tommy Aldridge on drums, and Michele Luppi on keyboards, is expected to be a fun, energetic release from the band. Said Coverdale to that effect:

“We’ve got some really dark energy going on in the world right now, so we’re gonna write & record a fun, knees up, song about falling in love with a fabulous babe. You’re over-talking, over-compensating & she just looks at you, takes the reins & says, ‘Shut Up and Kiss Me!’ and that’s it!! My video director and creative partner Tyler Bourns and I discussed a great storyline for the video, which involves a surprise guest: my fabulous old white Jaguar. We ended up cleaning and detailing it, as it has been in storage since I moved to Lake Tahoe, then we dusted off my old turquoise silk jacket from the original ‘Here I Go Again’ video and I was thinking, “man, this is going to be fun!” It’s a respectful acknowledgment and positive nod to the past, just fun stuff.”
