You’ll Do a Double-Take Watching ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic as Ted Nugent in a New Clip from Quibi’s ‘Reno 911’ Reboot

Back in late April, news circulated that “Weird Al” Yankovic, iconic parody artist and pop culture figure whose career and influence has spanned decades, would impersonate Ted Nugent in the new Reno 911 reboot on the mobile streaming platform Quibi.
The image shared of Yankovic’s Nuge was impressive:
A clip from the show itself has made the rounds on social media this week, and, well, if you thought the IMAGE itself was a startling likeness, Yankovic’s actual performance might leave you stunned.
The sequence features Yankovic’s Nugent preparing to take the stage, and there are jokes about guns, California and the like:

That’s eerie, right? “Weird Al” Yankovic channeling Ted Nugent like this probably isn’t something you’d expect, and yet he pulls it off so well. Then again, the man is a music/comedy icon for a reason, always more than able to embody the subject of his latest parody to a thorough degree.
On a related “Weird Al” topic, a new coffee table book will be released in October bringing together a number of black-and-white photos compiled by Yankovic’s longtime drummer, Jon “Bermuda” Schwartz.
Schwartz was keen to document everything, and 1984 Publishing will bring forth Black & White & Weird All Over: The Lost Photographs of “Weird Al” Yankovic ’83 – ’86 — which is precisely what it sounds like. Hundreds of black-and-white photos from Schwartz, who accompanied Yankovic in nearly everything he did for much of his career.
