Paul Simon was supposed to play the Simon & Garfunkel classic Bridge Over Troubled Water at Ground Zero to commemorate the day, but when he showed up he opted to play The Sound of Silence instead. The mood was somber, tragic, and heartbreaking, and Simon’s performance was incredibly poetic.
