Watch Paul Simon Perform "The Sound of Silence" at Ground Zero on 9/11
Yesterday was a day of somber reflection for the United States, as the attacks of September 11, 2001 had their tenth anniversary.
Paul Simon was supposed to play the Simon & Garfunkel classic Bridge Over Troubled Water at Ground Zero to commemorate the day, but when he showed up he opted to play The Sound of Silence instead. The mood was somber, tragic, and heartbreaking, and Simon’s performance was incredibly poetic. Watch it below:
