Wallows Covers the Beatles’ ‘With a Little Help from My Friends,’ Drummer Cole Preston Singing a la Ringo Starr (for Feeding America)

The last time we heard from Wallows, the three-piece indie/pop band featuring actor Dylan Minnette (Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why), Braeden Lemasters (actor known for roles such as Men of a Certain Age) and Cole Preston, the band was dancing around a vintage drive-thru in Los Angeles with their heavily 1990s-inspired song, “OK.”
On Friday, the group premiered a cover of the Beatles classic “With a Little Help from My Friends,” and its video is another heavily ’90s-styled clip, from the Windows startup screen to the whole bit. The song, featuring drummer Preston on lead vocals — matching Ringo Starr’s lead vocal duties on the original track — was released as an effort to help raise money for Feeding America during the COVID-19 pandemic:
Wallows will be donating their proceeds from the cover of “With a Little Help from My Friends” to Feeding America to help feed those in need and support the unprecedented growing food issue which has been heightened due to COVID-19.

Back to “OK,” a new standalone single that was premiered in early April, the song is a progression of sorts from Wallows’ 2019 album Nothing Happens, and the slick, retro-cool tone of everything is undeniable:
Prior to the pandemic, Wallows had a big tour planned. It has since been postponed, as has everything else in the live music realm at the moment, but expect big things from the group in the future.
