All-Star Tom Petty Birthday Tribute Concert Set for the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles Friday Oct. 19

You don’t need to be reminded of the legacy of Tom Petty. For decades, the music he and the Heartbreakers made built a foundation upon which countless musicians found inspiration and innumerable fans found a hero.
On Friday, Oct. 19, a group of all-star musicians will gather at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles for a special fundraising tribute concert paying homage to Petty’s life, times and enduring influence. It’s also coinciding with his birthday on Oct. 20, when Petty would have celebrated his 69th birthday.
Heavily involved in this event is Rock Cellar contributor Jeff Slate, who has a strong personal relationship with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers crew forged over the years as a writer, colleague and fan.
So excited to join these all-stars on stage at the @elreytheatre this Friday, Oct. 18th to benefit @MusiCares & @midnightmission, celebrating the late great @tompetty's birthday in the only way that's appropriate – with music!
