On Oct. 14, Todd Rundgren will release Space Force, a new collaborative album that the prog/power-pop master has been working on for some time.

Accompanying the news on Wednesday was the premiere of “Puzzle,” a song featuring Adrian Belew:

The track is exemplary of the exploratory nature of Space Force, which finds Rundgren teaming up with a number of notable guest musicians.

Per a news release:

This time around the musical ideas derive primarily from Rundgren’s collaborators, putting him back in the lauded producer’s chair to help bring rarities and never-released material to life. This ‘Space Force’ of collaborators includes The Roots, Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, The Lemon Twigs, Sparks, Steve Vai, rapper Narcy, Neil Finn (Crowded House, Fleetwood Mac), Adrian Belew (King Crimson, Frank Zappa), Alfie Templeman, Davey Lane and Thomas Dolby.

I just finished reading the article that accompanied this track of Puzzle.
Just had a stint put in 2 days ago and hearing the audio playing throughout this article made my heart feel much lighter!
Seeing the picture of the Agora and other venues from the 70’s was a moment.
    Thank you!
I called my son in Bloomington IN to tell him to read it and pass it on to his friend Andy who purchased John Cogar Meloncamp’s old mixing studio in Bloomington.
    No accidents,
    Terry
