Third Eye Blind is currently out on the Summer Gods Tour with Jimmy Eat World and Ra Ra Riot. In addition to a handful of classic ’90s alt/rock hits and fan favorites, Stephan Jenkins and the band have added in new material to the set list, and now it all makes sense.

On October 18, Third Eye Blind will release a new studio album titled Screamer. It’ll be the band’s first full-length studio record since 2015’s Dopamine and their sixth overall. To hype the news, 3EB premiered the title track on Thursday. Featuring Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells, the song’s pretty dynamic:

Speaking with Rock Cellar shortly before the Summer Gods Tour began, Jenkins said a bit about his band’s progress on new music and their upcoming plans, stemming from a Los Angeles gig that saw them play a whole bunch of new songs:

“So that show actually turned into some songs that we’re working on to see how they work for the new record, since it really helps to play it live first. Then we went out to Sonic Ranch in Texas to record. Still have some stuff to finish up, I took two weeks off, went surfing in Indonesia, then i’ll be back in L.A. probably this week, probably, to finish up vocals and stuff.”
