On Friday, the Strokes will release a new studio album titled The New Abnormal — and the revered NYC indie/rock band kicked off release week with a new track premiered on Monday.

Titled “Brooklyn Bridge to Chorus,” the high-energy track led by some flashy keyboards, the song builds to a classic Strokes chorus and can be heard below:

The song premiere also had a corresponding artsy Instagram post as well:

“Brooklyn Bridge to Chorus” joins fellow pre-release singles as previews of The New Abnormal, the first new record from the Strokes since 2013. Other early singles included “Bad Decisions”:

“At the Door”:

The Strokes first announced the album’s release at a Bernie Sanders rally in New Hampshire, which was followed by the official details and then a few singles as the release date neared — having not been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The New Abnormal is the sixth album from the Strokes, and was recorded at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu with producer Rick Rubin. It will be the long awaited follow-up to Comedown Machine, the band’s fifth studio album that was released in 2013.

The album artwork, seen below, was originally from a 1981 painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat called Bird On Money. The Strokes are singer Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr, bassist Nikolai Fraiture and drummer Fabrizio Moretti.
