The Regrettes, the four-piece pop/punk band on the rise in recent years after a series of acclaimed releases, returned in the fall with an engaging new song, “Monday,” which featured a fun Olivia Rodrigo cameo:

The song was the Regrettes’ first new music since 2019’s record How Do You Love?, and the group has now announced rescheduled headlining tour dates for the spring.

The new batch of shows comes after the Regrettes secured coveted spots at both the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in April and the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in June.

Momentum is clearly on the band’s side, having debuted another new track, the vulnerable “You’re So F**cking Pretty,” in December:

Explained vocalist Lydia Night in a statement about the song’s inspiration:

“It’s the first time I’ve ever written directly about a girl I had a crush on, and it took me a while for me to even allow my brain to accept the fact that I’m bisexual. I always felt like I couldn’t validate my own feelings because I had never been in a relationship with a girl. But I had a pretty big crush on one of my friends a while ago and this song is an exaggeration of that, but it’s still coming from a very real place. It was the first experience where I was like, ‘Oh, these are real feelings, this isn’t just a sexual attraction,’ and that helped me realize I wasn’t straight. This song means so much to me because it also represents the time we spent in Joshua Tree and opening up to my whole band about that experience and not feeling embarrassed or scared of talking about it. Writing this was important for me because it just validated my own sexuality.”

Said the Regrettes in a statement about pushing the tour back slightly:

“With the safety of everyone involved in mind, we have decided to postpone the Jan/Feb tour dates out of caution. We want to do our best to make these shows fun with all of us feeling as safe and comfy as possible rn in these weird times and we feel we can do that if we postpone. We look forward to seeing you all so soon!! Your tickets will still be valid for the new rescheduled shows. If you are unable to make the new date, refunds will be made available at your original point of purchase. We love you ❤️.”
