Young Los Angeles band The Linda Lindas burst onto the scene last year on the strength of a performance of “Racist, Sexist Boy” in a library. The song, describing an experience with a schoolmate that drummer Mila went through prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, struck a chord with the internet and put the group on everyone’s radar.

That led to a record deal with Epitaph Records and, now, the impending release of the band’s first full-length album, Growing Up. It will be out on April 8, and earlier this week the Linda Lindas debuted its title track — a revved-up burst of catchy garage-pop:

The band performed the song on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Wednesday night, no doubt garnering even more attention in their direction:

Tonight, Feb. 3, the Linda Lindas will also host a live streaming mini-concert from Humberto Leon’s CHIFA restaurant in east LA. Fans can tune in at 6PM PST/ 9PM EST via Warby Parker’s Instagram to watch the performance.

The Linda Lindas are preparing for a run of high-profile gigs around the time of the album’s release, including support slots for The Beths and Jawbreaker.
