Punk/Ska Revivalists the Interrupters Unleash High-Energy Punk Blast “Jailbird”; ‘In the Wild’ LP 8/5

The Interrupters, the punk/ska band that hit it big in 2018 with “She’s Kerosene,” the breakthrough track that helped Fight the Good Fight crack the Billboard 200, will release a new record on Aug. 5.
Titled In the Wild, the album was announced on Thursday and came with the premiere of “Jailbird,” a revved-up punk anthem with a bouncy ska beat, front woman Aimee Interrupter confronting her own battles with mental health:
“This song is about feeling like a prisoner in my own mind. I’ve dealt with a lifetime of severe anxiety, insomnia, depression, PTSD, trichotillomania, and panic attacks,” said Aimee of “Jailbird.” “This song is about how cycles can repeat. Thankfully, screaming these lyrics at the top of my lungs brings relief from the very hell I am singing about.”

Here’s another song from the record, “In the Mirror”:
In the Wild will tread similar themes throughout, tales of survival and resilience set to high-energy anthems primed for singalongs and the mosh pit alike. An official description promises that ” … the record took shape in an unforced and organic fashion, and the recording process was evidently a fun one, which is reflected in the sound of the album, gliding across a spectrum of breathless punk rock, doo-wop, gospel, dancehall, and the band’s customary nods to the lineage of two-tone.”
