The Go-Go’s were supposed to play some celebratory concerts on the West Coast this week and into early January in commemoration of their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction — but those plans are now on hold.

Said the band on social media on Dec. 27:

A member of our team recently tested positive for COVID. ALTHOUGH WE ARE, OF COURSE, VERY DISAPPOINTED, we will be following proper protocols and postponing our upcoming west coast dates.

We will be announcing new dates very soon and look forward to getting back to performing and celebrating with everyone.

Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe holiday season, and see you in the new year!

And the affected dates, which have yet to be rescheduled:

Dec 28 SF Masonic Auditorium San Francisco, CA
Dec 29 Microsoft Theater Los Angeles, CA
Dec 31 The Venetian Theatre Las Vegas, NV
Jan 1 The Venetian Theatre Las Vegas, NV
Jan 3 Civic Theatre San Diego, CA

A message accompanying the original tour announcement read as follows:

“We really missed seeing and playing for our fans and we are happy we can experience and enjoy live music with each other once again. We are looking forward to celebrating and bringing in a brighter new year with everyone.”

The Go-Go’s enjoyed a busy year that of course included their Rock Hall enshrinement:

The band was also featured in an acclaimed documentary film that debuted on Showtime in 2020 that was the focus of a feature story from writer Jeff Slate, in which singer Belinda Carlisle, guitarists Charlotte Caffey and Jane Wiedlin and bassist Kathy Valentine discuss their experiences in the industry and much more.
