Out Now: Stone Temple Pilots’ 25th Anniversary Edition of 1994’s ‘Purple’ — Listen

25 years ago, Stone Temple Pilots released what would become one of the band’s most successful albums. Purple  featured hits such as “Interstate Love Song” and “Vasoline,” which went on to become staples of FM rock radio for decades, both songs that helped make versatile vocalist Scott Weiland a marquee figure in that decade’s rock movement.

Today, the album receives a lavish 25th anniversary reissue, one featuring a wealth of unheard studio material. It was previewed in recent weeks with a demo/cover of a Beach Boys deep cut titled “She Knows Me Too Well,” which was the b-side to “When I Grow Up (To Be A Man”):
