Buzzworthy Metal Band Spiritbox Mixes a Bit of ’90s Alt/Rock into its Approach with New Single “Rotoscope”

The past year-plus brought big moves from Spiritbox, a genre-bending metal band featuring powerhouse vocalist Courtney LaPlante. Their debut album Eternal Blue put them on the map in the hard rock scene, and a visceral and dynamic live experience helped increase the hype.
This week, Spiritbox released a bit of new music — their first material since Eternal Blue — headlined by a new track, “Rotoscope,” which blends a bit of ’90s-tinged alt/industrial (think Garbage) into the otherwise crushingly heavy material, LaPlante’s howling, guttural vocals taking center stage once again:
