Today, July 1, multiplatinum hard rock arena-fillers Shinedown returned with Planet Zero, a pummeling and provocative new album that challenges the status quo of our collective experience, asking why things are the way they are — while also hoping to inspire hope and a sense of togetherness as we face the future.

The record was previewed a while back with the title track and its science fiction-themed video — a cinematic adventure blending science fiction with a narrative warning about the effects of “cancel culture”:

The track made history as Shinedown’s 18th No. 1 track on the rock charts — a testament to the band’s longevity, still going strong more than two decades since its 2001 arrival.
