With the Foo Fighters’ official inclusion, this marks the second induction for Dave Grohl, who was previously inducted as a member of Nirvana in 2014.
It’s also the second induction for Carole King, who was first inducted with fellow songwriter Gerry Goffin in 1990.
Some of those honored with an induction shared their excitement on social media:
I wanted to be a songwriter so I could meet all the great artists and they would know who I was. I thought being inducted into the @rockhall as a songwriter with Gerry Goffin was the pinnacle. Until now. Thank you for ALSO inducting me as an artist. And 🙏 to my fans always. https://t.co/O7ue6ibBdj

LL Cool J? Jay-Z? Rock n’ Roll? I don’t think so. Would you please change the name to Pop Music Hall Of Fame already? Enough is Enough!
To ignore Kate Bush but induct the Go-Go’s tells you the RRHOF is a complete joke.
