Over the past couple of weeks, legendary guitarist Robby Krieger has been keeping fans of the Doors entertained by soliciting suggestions for some guitar tutorials — and so far, the results have been illuminating and informative. It’s all part of a new series titled #LearnToPlayTheDoors, which is a fantastic idea with us all stuck indoors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After taking suggestions on the band’s official website, Krieger has begun uploading how-to videos detailing his process behind the guitar sounds on classic Doors tracks like “Roadhouse Blues” and “Moonlight Drive.”

This week, Krieger followed that up with “Moonlight Drive,” from 1967’s Strange Days:

On the other side of the proverbial stage, drummer John Densmore also shared a video answering some fan questions of his own:

All of the above is just the latest bit of entertainment related to the Doors to be made available in recent weeks. A handful of key films and documentaries about the iconic band are available to stream on Amazon Prime, as well.

Robby Krieger has a new album coming out on August 14 titled The Ritual Begins at Sundown. The release date was pushed back due to the coronavirus, but the record was previewed recently with the psychedelic instrumental track “Slide Home”:

Additionally, Both Krieger and Densmore were featured in Rock Cellar in January discussing Ray Manzarek, Jim Morrison and the Doors’ 1970 — a crucial year in the band’s lauded history.
