On April 21, Ray Davies of the Kinks will release a new solo album titled Americana (with the Jayhawks serving as his backing band). Davies made the announcement earlier this week and it came with the premier of a song called “Poetry,” which you can hear below:

Davies’ last album of new material was 2008’s Working Man’s Cafe. His 2013 memoir, also titled Americana, will be part of the album project as well and, in fact, Davies has plans for a second album later in 2017 as well. Busy times indeed!

Nice flow with cool rhythm. I love this song

  • Mike Farrell says:

Nice groove and interesting lyrics. Davies is in great form and playing with a band that’s really together and used to each other as opposed to doing the studio musicians thing is great. Not unlike the Dylan tour with the Heartbreakers or their work with Johnny Cash. Great bands bringing out the best in someone who’s had some problems working with others.
