Queens of the Stone Age have cultivated a unique place in music history, the Josh Homme-fronted band with “desert rock” roots and an enveloping, shape-shifting sound making the project one of the most interesting and successful of the past few decades.

To commemorate that legacy and take a look back at three key releases along the way, a trio of albums from the group will be reissued in the months ahead with special vinyl editions via Matador Records.

The first is a revisiting of 1998’s self-titled debut album, back in print on vinyl for the first time in a decade and “restored to its original sequence with the original, long out-of-print artwork by Frank Kozik.”

Its release date is Oct. 21.

The other two vinyl reissues are both scheduled for Dec. 19.

… Like Clockwork, released in 2013, earned multiple Grammy nominations and was highlighted by “My God is the Sun”:

2017’s Villains, meanwhile, is presented with a special 5th Anniversary package featuring etching, obi-strip, and a brand new poster by Boneface.

That record was also nominated for a Grammy and was another well-received QOTSA record, highlighted by the single “The Way You Used To Do”:
