On Nov. 28, a special online charity streaming telethon event titled Project Kids-Care took place with one goal in mind: helping underserved children in the Los Angeles area this holiday season. It’s the latest fundraising presentation from the Get Together Foundation and Rock Cellar Productions, and it boasted an eye-popping array of talent spanning music, movies, television and entertainment, all coming together to donate their talents and time for a great cause.
If you missed it the first time around, the show will re-stream this Saturday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. EST/3 p.m. PST via AlertTheGlobe.com, and Facebook Live. Tune in and see the stars come out to help L.A.’s underserved kids for the upcoming holidays.

Project Kids-Care features video performances and appearances from notable musicians, actors, sports and TV personalities, and celebrities of all kinds contributing songs and inspiring messages about Peace, Love & Understanding and the holidays. The event was produced by the Get Together Foundation (GTF), in association with Rock Cellar Productions and was live-streamed through Alert the Globe (www.alerttheglobe.com) and also aired on Facebook Live, as well as on ABC7.com. It was free to watch, and viewers donated through a text-to-donate code visible throughout the stream. Donations to the Project Kids-Care campaign are still welcome.

This telethon event featured video performances and appearances from celebrities of all kinds, including Kenny Loggins, Conan O’Brien, Jack Black, Joe Jonas, Kenny G, Brian McKnight, Larkin Poe, Pablo Cruise, Mindi Abair, David Arquette, Marc Broussard, Kevin Eubanks, The Dirty Knobs, War, GTF’s house band, The Tribe and many more.
Proceeds benefit the following charity organizations for their programs and services for kids: Get Together Foundation (food & shelter); 100 Black Men (mentoring & education); Valley Cultural Foundation (arts & education); Spark of Love Toy Drive (toys & sports equipment); and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (healthcare).
Here’s a little bit about our hosts for the Project Kids-Care Telethon in order of appearance …
STEVE FERRONE is best known as the drummer for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers for nearly 25 years. He’s also recorded and/or performed with Eric Clapton, Duran Duran, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Slash, Chaka Khan, The Bee Gees, Johnny Cash, Brian May, George Benson, Bryan Ferry, Peter Frampton, Whitney Houston, Steve Winwood, Paul Simon, Bernie Worrell, and Jaco Pastorius — just to name a few. Ferrone was the drummer for Brian Auger’s Oblivion Express before joining the Average White Band, with whom he played for eight years. He was also the drummer in the Saturday Night Live house band. Steve’s radio show, “The New Guy Show” is on Sirius XM’s Tom Petty Channel.
DAVID AND CHRISTINA ARQUETTE
Known for his award-winning acting career, David Arquette has become a household name with noteworthy roles in both film and television; and who could ever forget his role in the thriller film series, Scream? David is a man of many talents and carries the titles of Actor, Director, Producer and even Professional Wrestler! His wife, the lovely Christina Arquette, is a producer as well, and is best known for her television personality and entertainment reporting on TV’s Entertainment Tonight. David and Christina married back in 2015 and share two children together.
MICKY DOLENZ is an actor, musician, director, radio personality, author, and best known as the singer and drummer of the 1960’s pop/rock television band, The Monkees! Although he was not a drummer when he was first cast for the role, he took lessons and eventually learned to play! Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dolenz began his show-business career at the age of ten when he starred in a children’s TV show called Circus Boy. He guest starred in a number of television shows, but also learned to play guitar and was in several rock & roll bands. Micky enjoyed acting in musical theatre and was part of the National Touring Company of “Grease” as well as the Canadian production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”, and later starred in the Elton John/Tim Rice Broadway musical Aida as the character “Zoser”. He’s continued to appear in various acting roles both live and on screen, but his passion lies in playing live music. Micky was part of the Happy Together Tour, and also continues to tour on his own and with fellow Monkee member Mike Nesmith. He does meet & greets – both live and virtual, and plans to be back on tour soon.
DAN NAVARRO is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and voice actor. Dan’s journey began as a songwriter with his writing partner Eric Lowen, and as Lowen & Navarro wrote songs for artists including Pat Benatar (The GRAMMY-nominated “We Belong”), The Bangles, Jackson Browne, Dave Edmunds, The Temptations, Dionne Warwick, and many more. Dan tours nationally, performing house concerts and presenting at conferences. His voice has been featured in major films like The Playmobil Movie, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, The Book of Life, Rio, The Lorax, Coco, and Happy Feet and on TV’s Family Guy, American Dad, Elena of Avalor, and more. He’s recorded with Neil Young, Andrea Bocelli, Luis Miguel, Jose Feliciano, Janiva Magness, Jon Anderson of Yes, and more.
