Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum, an indie/pop/experimental band featuring actor Michael C. Hall (of Dexter and Six Feet Under), drummer Peter Yanowitz (the Wallflowers) and keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen (Blondie), has been out on the road on its first-ever U.S. tour.

For those unfamiliar, the group released its debut full-length album, Thanks for Coming, in February of 2021. Boasting an especially intriguing, genre-defying mix of styles that call to mind New Wave, dark synth-pop and, naturally, David Bowie (Hall portrayed Thomas Jerome Newton in Bowie’s Lazarus musical), it was one of the year’s more interesting releases.

Now that the group has picked up momentum as pandemic guidelines have shrunk and allowed actual touring and putting their music in front of audiences, ‘Princess Goes’ has also begun sharing some remixes of tracks like “Ketamine,” one of the group’s most dynamic songs.

The latest remix is a team-up with a Detroit hardcore/experimental collective called The Armed, with “Ketamine (ULTRAPOP Remix)” the result:

Said Yanowitz of this collaboration:

“We three are all big fans of The Armed and their album ‘ULTRAPOP, it’s been on constant rotation since it came out a year ago. When we reached out to Dan Greene on Instagram, he was honest about how utterly mangled our song would get in the meat grinder of their immense creativity. We were prepared for something different, and boy did they exceed even our high expectations. For us it was a dream to have a band we admire so much collaborate on something we made. This is such an imaginative, explosive odyssey that they took ‘Ketamine’ on, so all we can do is sit back and tip our hats in awe.”

Another remix of “Ketamine” came from Brandon Bost:

During this tour, which Hall Yanowitz and Katz-Bohen spoke with Rock Cellar about (click here to read that), the band played a handful of new tracks and are said to be working on them in the studio for a new album.

Stay tuned!
