Talk about a long layoff between records.
The always irreverent but oh-so-groovy Primus released Green Naugahyde, their first album since 1999’s Antipop, this week.
The band, known mostly for vocalist Les Claypool‘s talk-singing and funky slap-bass work , sound as tight as ever with the album, which happens to be the first album with Jay Lane, who has done drum work for a lot of Claypool’s non-Primus projects over the years, behind the kit.
Reviews for Green Naugahyde are generally favorable, with many considering it a solid release from the band, with some even comparing it to the band’s classic 1990 debut record Frizzle Fry.
