Pearl Jam Links with Samuel Bayer for the First Time in New Video for ‘Gigaton’ Standout “Quick Escape”

Samuel Bayer is the man responsible for many of the most memorable and iconic music videos of the past few decades — including Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” Blind Melon‘s “No Rain” and other videos with artists including Green Day, Michael Jackson, the Rolling Stones and many more. Until now, though, he hadn’t linked up with Pearl Jam.

The pairing finally happened for “Quick Escape,” a track featured on Pearl Jam’s 2020 album, Gigaton, which the band is finally able to promote on a world tour after a lengthy delay caused by the pandemic (read our review of one of their Los Angeles shows here).

The video was premiered on Thursday, connected to the recent release by the band of a Tour Edition of Gigaton, featuring an additional disc of live recordings from the tour. Blending stunt driving with performance footage of Eddie Vedder and his pals on stage, you can see it below:
