Egypt Station, released by Sir Paul McCartney in 2018, became his first No. 1 record to top the Billboard albums chart in 36 years when it was released — and for much of the time since, he’s been out on the road with his impeccable live band touring the globe, playing new material, solo gems and Beatles classics.

And somehow, despite being ceaseless with his work ethic — he’s working on a stage adaptation of Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life, tooSir Paul may already be eyeing another new album.

The Mirror published a quick piece featuring some quotes from McCartney about how he has to re-learn some of his Beatles songs “since there are so many,” and one quote in particular stood out:

“Writing music is still a thrill – out of nowhere you produce a rabbit. If you get one you like it’s a great feeling.”

Stay tuned. In the meantime, revisit Paul’s reunion with Ringo Starr at Dodger Stadium at his Freshen Up tour stop earlier this month.

The previously unannounced special guest popped up right in time for the encore, joining the band on stage for “Sgt.’ Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “Helter Skelter,” and yes, it was quite an exciting scene, Paul welcoming him with “All right, brother. I love you, man!” and kicking into gear:

It’s a good time to be a Macca fan, that’s for sure.
