In early August, hard rockers Papa Roach returned with a new song, “Swerve,” a collaboration with Fever 333 and Los Angeles rapper Sueco. The song was a bit of a stylistic departure from the band, at least in terms of the rap/metal styles that fans have come to expect from them — but it still retained the group’s signature flavor.

On Thursday, Papa Roach shared another new track, and “Kill the Noise” is more aligned with the sort of sound the group has had for most of its two-decade-and-counting career. Here’s its chaotic music video, depicting the band playing in a fenced-in cage:

Said vocalist Jacoby Shaddix of the high-energy track:

“It’s easy to get caught up in some of that static inside your mind – we all tangle with that demon. For us, ‘Kill The Noise’ brings some straight-up heavy music catharsis, a reminder to find that moment of peace from the noise.”

The most recent studio album from Papa Roach was 2019’s Who Do You Trust?. There has not been an official announcement of a new album just yet, though two new songs and the band’s recent restarting of its own label, New Noize Records, implies more activity is on the horizon.
