The Beta Machine is a project involving bassist/vocalist/keyboardist Matt McJunkins and drummer Jeff Friedl, both of whom spend time in A Perfect Circle. Last Friday, March 29, the Los Angeles-based band released Intruder, its debut full-length album, via T-Boy Records and UMe.

A genre-defying sonic journey through indie rock with electronic-tinged industrial elements, Intruder is a singularly unique listen. The band — McJunkins, Friedl, vocalist Claire Acey and guitarist/keyboardist Nic Perez (also involved with Holy Wars, a new band featured on Rock Cellar in recent weeks) cover a lot of ground on this record, which was previewed with the track “Embers.”
