Back in late August, Muse returned with Will of the People, the dynamic English rock/pop band‘s ninth studio album to date.

From start to finish, it’s another collection of arena-ready bombast and theatrical compositions from the trio (guitarist/vocalist Matthew Bellamy, drummer Dominic Howard and bassist Chris Wolstenholme). Early next year, Muse will indeed bring its explosive live show to North America for a big arena tour, presumably working in several songs from the new record into a set list heavy on many of the band’s classic hits.

Accompanying Muse on this big tour will be special guests Evanescence, which has kept busy this year with tours alongside Halestorm and Korn, following the 2021 release of a new album of its own, The Bitter Truth.

Entirely self-produced by the band, Will of the People is Muse as its most Muse-ish, if that makes sense. Bellamy spoke of the album in an interview as “a greatest hits album – of new songs,” bringing together elements of the group’s tried-and-true sound. Sure enough, that’s what it is — overflowing with confidence.
