We’re all in this together. That phrase is everywhere these days, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic still maintains its stranglehold on society — enter “Weird Al” Yankovic and his comedian pals, who want us all to know that … well, that we’re all in this together.

Earlier this week, David Cross and Bob Odenkirk, the duo behind the irreverent 1990s comedy series Mr. Show with Bob & David, hosted the Mr. Show Zoomtacular Annual Business Call Event for Charity, a special online event raising money for LIFT during the pandemic.

As is the custom with most of these all-star outreach programs, the show featured an all-star singalong … but it wasn’t set to “Imagine” by John Lennon, like March’s all-star celebrity singalong was.

No, this one was set to none other than the classic “Weird Al” Yankovic Michael Jackson parody “Eat It,” and the best part? Each comedian/actor in the video played it straight and serious, to great effect.

Those who appear in the clip include Yankovic (of course), Cross, Odenkirk, Odenkirk’s Better Call Saul cast mates Rhea Seehorn, Michael Mando and Michael McKean, Patton Oswalt, Jack Black, Sarah Silverman, Bryan Cranston, Al Franken, Fred Armisen, Amber Tamblyn, Rachel Bloom, Tony Hale and more.

It’s an inspired little bit:

Said Yankovic of the production in a tweet after the video made the rounds:
Truly there’s no problem that can’t be overcome when you get a bunch of celebrities together to sing something.

An additional noteworthy bit from this production was “Bob Odenkirk and David Cross crushing a ZOOM call,” an amusing preview of the stream that many of us can relate to given the circumstances of the past few weeks.
