Modest Mouse thrives on eccentricity. For years, the band has hit big creative peaks by being among the quirkiest indie bands around, and it’s safe to say that’s still going strong today.

On Friday, the band premiered a song and video called “Ice Cream Party,” and the video component is … a lot to process. On paper, it sounds simple: Melty ice cream cones and hands making balloon animals, but naturally that’s been carried out in the most psychedelic of ways possible.

It’s probably an incredible experience if you watch it under the influence of … life:

The most recent Modest Mouse studio album was 2015’s Strangers to Ourselves, though “Ice Cream Party” isn’t the first we’ve heard from them since then, as the band has premiered “Poison the Well” and “I’m Still Here” earlier in the year.
