Being Stuck at Home Can Still Be Fun, as the New Crowd-Sourced Music Video from Mindi Abair Proves

Mindi Abair, renowned saxophonist/vocalist/author who served as the featured sax player on American Idol for two seasons among many other accomplishments, recently premiered a peppy new music video for her song, “Seven Day Fool.”

For the clip, Abair sought the help of her fans on social media, asking them to submit videos of whatever they’ve been doing to have fun at home during COVID-19 quarantine:

A select few of those fan submissions made it into the music video, a lively production that was premiered on April 14:

Abair was kind enough to donate some of her time hosting a segment of our All Together Now! All-Star online concert telethon raising money for COVID-19 relief in Los Angeles on April 25, and the “Seven Day Fool” video was included in the online stream as well.

Said Abair along with the video premiere:

I figured we’re all home 7 days a week  the song was very fitting!  I feel that we need each other right now … we need to know that everyone else is going through this just the same as we are.  It’s good to share the experience and laugh and drink and play music and get through it together!

“Seven Day Fool” is a song from her Mindi Abair and the Boneshakers album No Good Deed, which was released back in June 2019.

It’s all in the spirit of “we’ll get through this together,” which is a powerful sentiment during these confusing times. For more of those good vibes, be sure to tune in to Abair’s official Facebook Page every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, when she hosts Mindi Abair’s Wine + Music Sessions, playing sax, piano and hanging out with her husband, Eric, who usually does some wine tastings and other related activities on the live stream.

Abair, currently finishing work on another album, also owns a wine + music company with her husband — click here for more details about their Reserve Tastings Wine Company.
