Michael McDonald Playing ‘Home Alone 2 – Birthday Bash: A Party of One’ Live Stream Concert 2/12 (Tickets/Info)

On Feb. 12, renowned singer/songwriter/recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Michael McDonald will throw himself a lavish 69th birthday party with Home Alone 2 — Birthday Bash: A Party of One, a live stream concert announced this week.
Promising “hits, covers, and a couple of Valentine’s Day songs,” it’ll be the second Home Alone live stream in McDonald’s ongoing series … hence the Home Alone 2 title.
Tickets for the live stream show cost $20 and are available now at this link. Per a news release:
VIP packages including autographed merchandise and an online afterparty are also available. McDonald will perform songs from his time with The Doobie Brothers, as well as his solo career and select cover songs.
This was the teaser video for McDonald’s September live stream show:
It seems reasonable to expect another entertaining performance along the same lines, packed with music from his timeless career. That first show featured 13 songs, spanning McDonald’s solo career, the Doobies, Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” and beyond.
2020 also saw Michael McDonald keep busy with a series of archival live recordings released to the masses. In April, he debuted a powerhouse performance of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On”:
In May, a rendition of “What the World Needs Now”:
In July came “Takin’ It to the Streets,” featuring Drea Rhenee:
And, finally, McDonald was a special guest in July’s “Feelin’ Alright” video from Dave Mason and the Quarantines (check out our feature interview with Mason at this link, by the way), an ensemble of fellow rock legends including Sammy Hagar, Mick Fleetwood, Michael McDonald and the Doobie Brothers.
Michael McDonald destroyed The Doobie Brothers rocking style. He changed them into a crap band. I hate his voice, it reminds me of what he did to one of my favorite bands!
