Watch Longtime Metallica Bassist Jason Newsted’s Unboxing Video of the ‘Black Album’ Reissue Coming 9/10

On Sept. 10, Metallica will commemorate its groundbreaking 1991 self-titled Black Album with a lavish 30th anniversary reissue. It’s been previewed in recent weeks with demo recordings and tracks from its companion Metallica Blacklist covers compilation, which boasts 53 different artists paying homage to the thrash/metal titans‘ landmark record.
The Black Album Remastered Deluxe Set now has a detailed unboxing video, but Metallica had a special treat in store for fans with the clip: Jason Newsted, who served as the group’s bassist from 1986 (taking over for Cliff Burton after his tragic death) until 2001. He was a vital part of the band for the albums … And Justice for All (1988), the Black Album (1991), Load (1996) and Reload (1997).
Join Jason Newsted as he takes his first look at the Remastered Deluxe Box Set of "The Black Album,” hitting shelves September 10.
