Mandy Moore: Watch Performances of Two Songs from New Album ‘In Real Life’; On Tour Now

Singer/songwriter/actor Mandy Moore recently launched a tour in support of In Real Life, her new studio album released on May 13.
The record features collaborations with her husband, musician Taylor Goldsmith of the Los Angeles indie/rock band Dawes, and strikes a particularly resonant emotional chord as a result. These are busy times for Moore, who also starred in the NBC drama This Is Us, which wrapped its six-season run with a series finale in late May.
She and Goldsmith are also raising a young son (and Moore just announced that a second child is on the way), so her schedule is quite packed at the moment.
These have been transitionary times for Moore, both personally and professionally — not to mention the global pandemic that we’ve all been dealing with for the past few years. All of this contextual heaviness is a prime focal point for earnest and emotional songwriting, which Moore channels into some truly affecting material.
To showcase the album and her current tour with Vevo, Moore released two performance videos of a pair of standout tracks from In Real Life. Here’s “Four Moons”:
And “Heartlands”:
In Real Life was produced by Mike Viola (Andrew Bird, Ondara, Lori McKenna) and is Moore’s follow-up to 2020’s Silver Landings, a reflective album that sounded a bit inspired by the iconic Laurel Canyon scene of Los Angeles.
