Lit Shares Summer-Ready Anthem “Kicked Off the Plane,” New Album ‘Tastes Like Gold’ Coming in June

On June 17, Orange County rock/pop band Lit will return with Tastes Like Gold, a new studio album that the band intends as a return to the group’s “old-school sound” — that is, an updated take on A Place in the Sun, Lit’s 1999 record that sold millions thanks to the runaway success of the now-classic “My Own Worst Enemy.”
That song took on a life of its own and became one of the most-played songs of its era — and to this day remains the band’s signature song, a true lightning-in-a-bottle bit of songwriting that landed at the perfect time.
We are super proud and stoked to finally be releasing this album. It's the record we wanted to make, and then some. We hope it makes you all as happy as it makes us and we can't wait to share these songs with you on the road this year. https://t.co/YmNj8lXm2C pic.twitter.com/RS0FaxZUGl

“Kicked Off the Plane” is a new song shared from Tastes Like Gold, and the track treads similar thematic territory as “My Own Worst Enemy,” vocalist A. Jay Popoff lamenting drinking too much and, well, being kicked off an airplane, set to a shimmery guitar burst and a singalong chorus. It’s the Lit you remember, just a few years older and wiser:
The track is the second shared so far from the new record, following “Yeah Yeah Yeah” and its party-themed video first debuted in mid-February:
