Linkin Park Announces ‘Notes from the Band’ Updates Series, “Tiny Snapshots Into Our Daily Misadventures”

We’re coming up on the five-year anniversary of the July 20, 2017 passing of Linkin Park front man, Chester Bennington.
His tragic death, which came as the band was between tours for its latest (and final) studio album, One More Light, struck the rock community and understandably left the remaining band members — Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Rob Bourdon, Joe Hahn and Dave “Phoenix” Farrell — in flux.
The years since have seen sporadic activity from individual members, most frequently Shinoda, who maintains a very strong online presence and has released a handful of musical projects on his own, but as a group, Linkin Park has all but remained quiet, save for an October 2020 reissue of the band’s 2000 debut, Hybrid Theory, to commemorate its 20th anniversary.
On Tuesday, the members of Linkin Park sent out a statement to fans announcing a new endeavor, Notes from the Band, which while somewhat vague is the first bit of group activity from the guys since the October 2017 all-star tribute concert they put on at the Hollywood Bowl to honor Bennington’s legacy.
The message reads:
Hey Everyone,
Two decades in and our LP community continues to inspire us. Your passion and dedication is the lifeblood of what we’ve built together with you. And it doesn’t go unnoticed.
We thought it was about time to begin sharing a little more regularly with you. Starting this mon, we’ll be putting (digital) pen to (digital) paper to share NOTES FROM THE BAND––tiny snapshots into our daily misadventures, from us each month. There’s no concrete plan, but that’s what we like about it.
Until then…
All our best,
Rob, Brad, Dave, Joe & Mike
