Watch Linkin Park and Friends Remember Chester Bennington with Three-Plus Hour Concert at the Hollywood Bowl

Friday night, the remaining members of Linkin Park took the stage publicly for the first time since the death of vocalist Chester Bennington back on July 20.

A special ‘Celebrate the Life of Chester Bennington’ event, Linkin Park — Mike Shinoda, Dave “Phoenix” Pharrell, Rob Bourdon, D.J. Joe Hahn and guitarist Brad Delson — put together an absolutely incredible and cathartic marathon show that spanned more than three hours and featured a host of special guests, most of them filling in for Bennington on vocals.

The entire night was a surreal experience, one the band streamed for free worldwide on their official YouTube channel. The whole show was unforgettable from start to finish, but a few moments stood out the most:

  • Linkin Park opening the show on stage with a medley of Bennington-led songs, which was an emotional scene for sure
  • Playing “Numb” instrumentally and having the spotlight shine down on an empty microphone stand
  • Playing “New Divide” but having the Chester’s actual live vocals from Linkin Park’s 2014 Hollywood Bowl show play at the same time

Guests included Blink-182, Gavin Rossdale of Bush, Tony Kanal/Adrian Young/Tom Dumont of No Doubt, Alanis Morissette, Oli Sykes of Bring Me the Horizon, Sum 41’s Frank Zummo and Deryck Whibley, Gavin Rossdale of Bush, Bebe Rexha, Kiiara, Machine Gun Kelly, Ryan Key of Yellowcard, Shavo Odadjian and Daron Malakian of System of a Down, Jonathan Davis of Korn, Steve Aoki, Zedd, Jeremy McKinnon of A Day to Remember, and much, much more.
