Earlier this week, the Hollywood Bowl announced its 2022 concert schedule for the summer, and two shows in particular were especially noteworthy. On July 15 and 16, legendary singer/songwriters Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina will perform together, marking their first time sharing the stage in Los Angeles for a concert in 50 years.

The performances are billed as “Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina – Sittin’ In 2022,” and will be truly special given the context and their legacy of music together.

From the Hollywood Bowl’s event page:

It was 50 years ago when Loggins & Messina played the Hollywood Bowl supporting their debut album Sittin’ In. Now, the duo reunites for a special weekend celebrating the golden sound of the ‘70s with songs like “Danny’s Song” and “House at Pooh Corner.” Kenny Loggins closes the show with his greatest hits, such as “Footloose” and “Danger Zone.” A historic night under the stars!

Loggins and Messina teamed up more than a decade ago for an extensive tour billed as Together Again 2009, but Best Classic Bands notes that it’s believed their most recent performance together was in 2018 at a private charity event.

Tickets for the show are not yet available to the public, but will be soon. When the Bowl unveiled its 2022 schedule, tickets were first made available to subscribers who buy into ticket packages for the whole season, or partial blocks of shows. Click here for more details on that.

Once tickets for these two shows are available, they will be listed on the venue’s Ticketmaster page.

In related news, Loggins is also releasing his official memoir, Still Alright, which will be published in June. Click here for more details.
