“Living for Love” is the title of a new solo song from Justin Hayward, lead vocalist/guitarist/composer of The Moody Blues.

Shared on Thursday, the track is Hayward’s first bit of new music in more than two years.

Take a listen:

Justin Hayward explained the track’s origins in a statement:

“I’m one of a generation that as teenagers, if we were lucky, were living just for love; with the most wonderful music, freedom and optimism. We didn’t really understand at the time but I have to celebrate those days now, while we are still here, and we remember.”

To date, Hayward has released seven solo albums outside his esteemed work with the Moody Blues. Hayward’s most recent solo album was 2013’s Spirits of the Western Sky (which you can pick up from our Rock Cellar Store by clicking here).

“Living for Love” was recorded in Italy early this year, though Hayward delayed its release until it aligned with his upcoming tour schedule, which includes previously postponed shows in the U.K.
