Hear a Fiery (and Previously Unreleased) Live Cut Called ‘Ezy Ryder’ from Jimi Hendrix and Band of Gypsys’ Fillmore East Concerts

We’re all very fortunate that the Jimi Hendrix vaults haven’t been fully raided yet, as each new archival release adds to the legacy, myth and allure of the otherworldly gifted guitarist who was taken from this earth far, far too early.

Here’s a song called “Ezy Ryder,” a blistering live cut taken from a Band of Gypsys concert at the Fillmore East on New Year’s Eve 1969, which hasn’t been released officially before.

The track comes courtesy of Rolling Stone, which notes that this live version of “Ezy Ryder” is taken from a new box set, Songs for Groovy Children: The Fillmore East Concerts, which will be released on Dec. 13 in 5-CD format (click here to pre-order) or 8-LP format (click here to pre-order).
