Embrace the Joys of Life with Jenny Lewis’ New Song “Puppy and a Truck” (and Follow Her Dog on Instagram)

This week, singer/songwriter/celebrated indie queen Jenny Lewis shared a new song, “Puppy and a Truck,” a song she’s begun performing live while out on the road supporting pop star Harry Styles on his hotly anticipated tour.

Written by Lewis and produced by Dave Cobb, the upbeat track is an ode to letting go of negativity and focusing on life’s simple joys, per a news release, and features lyrics like these:

My 40s are kicking my ass
And handing em to me in a margarita glass….
Like a shot of good luck
I got a puppy and a truck
If you feel like giving up
Shut up
Get a puppy and a truck

Lewis did actually recently adopt a cockapoo puppy named Bobby Rhubarb, giving the song some authenticity. Here they are, together:
