Jeff Beck Announces U.S. Tour Starting 9/23; New Album with Johnny Depp, ’18,’ Available Now

Guitar icon Jeff Beck remains a busy man, and will launch a tour of the United States beginning on Sept. 23.

The news was announced on Monday, and comes on the heels of the release of 18, a new album combining the talents of Beck and his pal, actor/musician Johnny Depp.

This upcoming slate of tour dates includes some shows with Beck teaming up alongside his Texas friends in ZZ Top, before a string of his own headlining performances. Per a news release, the tour will focus on the new album as well as explore Beck’s legendary career through instrumentals like “You Know You Know,” “A Day in the Life” and “Brush with the Blues.” The tour will include BECK’s current band: bassist Rhonda Smith, drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Robert Stevenson.

As for 18, it’s a collection of cover songs and a few Depp originals, released by the pair on July 15. After meeting in 2016, Beck and Depp apparently struck a chord in the studio together, leading to productive studio recording sessions of Depp songs and an eclectic mix of covers, ranging from “Celtic and Motown, to the Beach Boys and Killing Joke,” per a news release.
