These are busy times for legendary singer/songwriter Jackson Browne, currently out on the road supporting his most recent solo album, last July’s Downhill From Everywhere. The record was released to universal acclaim and garnered Browne a Grammy nomination (for Best Americana Album), as Browne has put together a record that stands side-by-side with his classic works from decades back.

One of the album’s most engaging songs is “Minutes to Downtown,” which recently received a music video finding Browne driving around his hometown of Los Angeles, taking in the sights:

“The song is about wanting to be somewhere else, but for whatever reasons, you’re tied to the place where you live and the things you do,” said Browne of the song. “So I wanted it to be me driving around. To me, the video has a distinctive feature, which is that nothing happens. You don’t arrive anywhere, right?”
