Iggy Pop may be 75 years old, but he still rocks it like he’s in his twenties.

“Frenzy” is a new song shared by the living legend on Friday, and it packs quite a punch in its three minutes.

For this song, Pop teamed with producer/guitarist Andrew Watt, drummer Chad Smith (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) and bassist Duff McKagan (of Guns N’ Roses), essentially making this project a supergroup of sorts:

Watt is something of an unstoppable force in rock these days. Just in the last year, the rising star has been heavily involved in releases and tours from Eddie Vedder and Ozzy Osbourne, seamlessly adding himself into a mix of elder rockers like Pop, Smith and McKagan.

At just 32, Watt is becoming one of the hardest-working figures in rock music, and this latest Iggy Pop collaboration is another example why.

“Frenzy” is released under the partnership between Atlantic Records and Gold Tooth Records, the label founded by Watt, who already has a Grammy win under his belt (Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, in 2021).

Iggy Pop’s must recent studio album was 2019’s Free, though this spark of new activity suggests he has more work coming up soon. Stay tuned!
