Green Day Announce Club Tour in Support of New Album 'Revolution Radio'
Green Day are gearing up to release a new album, Revolution Radio, on October 7, and on Monday the band announced a string of club dates in support of the record.
Spanning venues in the U.S., Canada and Europe, the outing will run from September 20 through October 10 in Berkeley, before the European jaunt begins in January.
Green Day are no strangers to intimate club dates, having done special surprise gigs in past touring cycles supporting their albums American Idiot, 20th Century Breakdown and the trilogy of LPs Uno, Dos, and Tre. Announcing this club tour officially as they have is a bit unexpected given their past penchant for unpredictability, but it would seem naive to assume these are the only club shows they’ll do in support of Revolution Radio…
Speaking of the album, the band’s press release details it as follows:
Produced by Green Day and recorded in Oakland, Revolution Radio is a potent 12-track blitz of angst-ridden anthems that unites Green Day’s fully formed stylistic approach with lyrical themes that address the complexities and uncertainties of modern day existence. Musically, the album is raw, visceral, and fearless — solidifying the band’s reign as one of the leading voices in rock music.
