The Grateful Dead will stream another archival performance from Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain, View, Calif. — just outside San Jose — on Friday, July 24, the latest installment in the group‘s ongoing Shakedown Stream series.

As always, the stream will feature a pre-show conversation with a special guest close to the core of the jam band’s vaunted history:

The stream will go up on the Dead YouTube channel on Friday, 7/24 at 8 p.m EDT/5 p.m. PDT, and will replay a show at Shoreline from Sept. 29, 1989.

The Grateful Dead’s Bay Area roots facilitated frequent performances at Shoreline, one of the region’s foremost outdoor amphitheaters, and the venue has come up a few times over the course of the Dead’s Shakedown Series of streams.

As has been the case for most weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, the legendary jam band doesn’t let a weekend pass by without offering up some treasures from the vault, a great way to keep fans entertained at home during these strange times.

This new pair of Grateful Dead-related streaming events comes at a particularly busy time for the band, which released the 50th anniversary edition of Workingman’s Dead last week (click here for more on that) and unveiled a new collaboration with Nike for some special (and quite colorful) sneakers.
