New from Duran Duran: Stream the Lively “Anniversary,” from Upcoming Album ‘Future Past’ Out 10/22

On Oct. 22, Duran Duran will return with a new album titled Future Past, the long-running band‘s 15th album and first since 2015’s Paper Gods.
The record, co-produced by the group and Erol Alkan, with additional production assistance from Giorgio Moroder and Mark Ronson, was detailed recently — and on Tuesday, a new single was shared showcasing the new material.

Titled “Anniversary,” the track finds front man Simon Le Bon in fine form, his iconic voice soaring over an irresistible hook paired with a bouncy rhythm. It sounds like vintage Duran Duran, and is sure to be well received by fans:

Said bassist John Taylor of the latest new song:
“‘ANNIVERSARY’ is a special song for us. Obviously we were conscious of our own impending 40th anniversary of making music together, but we wanted the song’s meaning to be inclusive in the broadest possible way. After playing and working together for so long, we very much appreciate what ‘being together’ and ’staying together’ can really mean, it’s not something we would have thought song worthy 40 years ago but we do today! It was also fun to build a track with hints of previous Duran hits, they’re like Easter eggs, for the fans to find.”
“Anniversary” is the third song shared so far from the album. Here’s “MORE JOY!”, featuring CHAI:
And “Invisible,” which received its own music video directed by artificial intelligence (no, really):
It “was created by an Artificial Intelligence called Huxley, a unique dreamer whose ‘mind’ has been modeled after the cognitive and emotional processes of humans. It is the very first collaboration of its kind, between artists in different planes of existence.”
