“Transcending Time” is a song featured on A View from the Top of the World, the new record from prog-rock masters Dream Theater that was released in October.

Clocking in at six and a half minutes (the shortest song featured on the album), the tune is a memorable one, and a video for the song was debuted this week. Stylistically, the track has some steady Rush vibes, and the visual accompaniment of clocks and timepieces more than hammers that point home:

Upon its release, the album was met with acclaim — hitting No. 1 on the Current Hard Music Charts,  No. 2 on the Current Rock Albums Charts and debuting at #52 on the Billboard 200, re-affirming the relevance of the band (James LaBrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung and Mike Mangini).
