Watch the Doobie Brothers Play a Lively ‘Listen to the Music’ from Isolation (for Feeding America)

The Doobie Brothers may have had to postpone their anticipated 50th anniversary tour with Michael McDonald to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, but the classic band is still doing what it can to entertain the masses.
This week, the group — Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, John McFee and John Cowan — premiered an at-home performance video of “Listen to the Music,” with each musician recording his part from his respective home or home studio.
It’s an airy, bright and vibrant performance, and it’s well worth a watch:
Note the plug at the end from Tom Johnston, urging viewers to make a donation to Feeding America — a great and vital resource during these uncertain times.
This performance comes after the Doobie Brothers recently premiered another at-home video, that time for “Black Water,” which incorporated footage submitted by fans:
As for the 50th anniversary tour, the band issued this statement about its postponement on May 26:
The Doobie Brothers regret to announce that their 50th Anniversary Tour has been rescheduled. This decision has been made with the health and safety of The Doobie Brothers fans, crew and local employees in mind. The tour will now be rescheduled for 2021 starting on July 17 in West Palm Beach and ending on October 23 in New Orleans, making 46 stops across North America. Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, previously announced dates Mount Pleasant, MI, Sioux City, IA, Boise, ID, Albuquerque, NM, Little Rock, AR, Bossier City, LA, and Memphis, TN have been cancelled. Full tour routing of rescheduled dates is below.
Fans are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as they will be valid for the new dates. If ticket holders can no longer attend or would prefer a refund, they will receive an email directly allowing them to request one.
